Every scallop is hand-harvested and shipped all on the same day — ensuring maximum "day boat" freshness and quality. You can expect your order to arrive within one day of harvest.

Select your quantity, choose your desired delivery date, and we do the rest. The day before your delivery date, we hand-harvest and shuck your scallops. Our team then packs your order in an insulated shipping box with cold packs and a temperature tracker.

When your order arrives, check the FreshTag

We use Freshtag to monitor the temperature of your shipment while in transit. Review the Freshtag color when your order arrives.

Green or yellow indicates a fresh and safe shipment.

Red or orange indicates potential heat abuse.

We pack and ship from our headquarters in Belfast, Maine via FedEx.

Tracking details will be provided once your packed order is picked up.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right quantity for my needs?
On average, 18-20 individual shucked scallops make up a pound. A two-pound order can comfortably feed a group of 7-8 people. When in doubt, order up! You can freeze any fresh leftover raw scallops without sacrificing the amazing taste.

What's the best way to eat your scallops?
Vertical Bay scallops are as fresh as they come and can be enjoyed cooked or raw (just like sushi or sashimi). Visit our Recipes page for preparation inspiration.

Our Policy

Perishable Items

While we do not accept returns on any perishable items, it is important to us that you have an exceptional experience. Please contact us at info@verticalbay.com if you have any questions about your order. For quality and assurance purposes, concerns related to lost/stolen/damaged packages or product quality must be reported within 48 hours of receiving the product. All concerns related to product quality must include a photo of the FreshTag with a date/time stamp that matches your delivery day.

Merchandise

We accept returns and exchanges for merchandise purchased online within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping costs apply and the item must be in its original condition to be accepted.  

To start a return or exchange, please contact us at info@verticalbay.com prior to sending the package back to us using a carrier of your choice. All refunds for returns will be processed once the item is received back. We will notify you once the refund has been processed via email.

Order Modifications & Cancellations

All orders can be canceled before 4:30PM EST the day before it is scheduled to ship. Any modifications to your order must be made 48 hours prior to your delivery date.
